The organization

Performance Feedback is a consulting organization that specializes in only one area – training managers and individual contributors how to give outstanding performance-related feedback using The PAF technique.

PAF is a simple 3-step approach to assessing performance and giving feedback that represents a monumental improvement over existing feedback models.

Julie Freeman developed PAF in response to her experience delivering various management and supervisory soft skills courses in large organizations. These courses usually contained a segment on “how to manage performance and give feedback” as this had correctly been identified being one of the greatest needs within the target audience. However, while the models used in these courses worked well in theory it was obvious that they failed miserably in practice because managers simply could not seem to apply them successfully to their own real situations. Consequently, many trainees were sceptical and discouraged. They believed that expending effort to try to learn something that would not help them in any significant way was a waste of time.

Based on this experience, Julie made it her mission to figure out why the performance management/feedback element of managerial training was not working. After analyzing the situation, she identified the root cause of the problem and, with this understanding in mind, developed a process (PAF) that overcame it. After several years of testing, PAF s now a streamlined process and the training reliably builds the skills and confidence managers need in order to apply it successfully in real situations in a variety of contexts.
